It only happens when you keep going

It only happens when you keep going.

It rains and you go anyway.

It rains and you don’t go home early.

You get wet. You get cold. You keep going. Warm up inside and go out again in your cold-weather clothes. You are wet again. You’re still standing there. Then something happens. You have something. But you keep going. Wet and cold. Because more may come. Only when you are done do you stop.

Free? You are the product

It is not clear to me who first said this, “If it’s free, you’re the product.” Maybe Richard Serra as early as 1973.

It applies to our television channels. We don’t pay for it. So we are the product. You notice: we have to watch crap larded with commercials. Not just the commercial channels. No, just as much the public broadcasters.
