Rage Against The Machine – first performance (and

Amazing how good they are already at their first gig in ’91.

And there’s nobody there!

And then 2 years later…

Watched: Black Widow

I saw Black Widow yesterday at Disney+, not for a 20 euro early-release-view (or what’s it called) like a few months ago at Disney, but under the regular subscription. It’s a very nice action-packed movie. It has a less obvious plot and a nice backstory about the childhood of the Avenger Black Widow, her sister, and her parents.

I hope the trumpet blast at the end of American movies will go out of style soon.

Slaughterhouse-Five and Fahrenheit 451 kado

Just yesterday I wrote about my intention to read more science fiction. As if the devil were playing with it, I was gifted two books for Christmas: Kurt Vonnegut’s Slaughthouse-Five and Ray Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451.

I read a bit in Fahrenheit 451, and the beginning of the book immediately sets the story on fire, which was not meant to be an overly lame pun (the book is about a fireman).

The book has already been filmed twice: in 1966, by Francois Truffaut, and most recently in 2018, by Ramin Bahrani.

A Christmas movie from 1913

A miraculous 1913 stop-motion film, The Insect’s Christmas, from film pioneer Wladyslaw Starewicz.

Harari
Kelly

Ik vind hem dan wel op de site van de VPRO. Mooie documentaire.

The Technium heeft zijn eigen wil (Kelly). Dataisme (Harari).

Rick Rubin: The Invisibility of Hip Hop’s Greatest Producer (video)

Nice documentary on Rick Rubin.

Ray Manzarek on Riders on the Storm (video)

Ray Manzarek (no sideburns here) explains Riders on the Storm. It’s still astonishing how his left hand plays the base line on the keyboard, while his right hand goes off into a Bach-like or jazzy solo.

Duane Denison guitar geek-out

Duane Denison is a very special guitarist. He is most known as the guitarist in The Jesus Lizard. In this video, he geeks out on electric guitar. He is a wonderful person.

The Jesus Lizard (video)

Watch this for those not aware of what an amazing band The Jesus Lizard was. They have made a couple of classic albums and songs. The song Gladiator is my all-time favorite.

Dinosaur Jr at Pukkelpop 2009 (video)

I had never seen Dinosaur Jr live, and was massvely impressed what a well-oiled machine this band is.
