I am a photographer who writes, tinkers and does computer stuff. I live in Heiloo, 35 km north-northwest of Amsterdam.
I just finished reading This Boy’s Life (the book) by Tobias Wolff.
I just came back from a short trip to Bucharest. We are planning my next trip to Hong Kong and probably Taiwan in 2025.
Sometimes, I do not photograph. But I usually take pictures of what is in front of me, and I get in front of punk rock bands for that, too.
I love doing things myself and being independent. I am very skeptical about Big Tech. I am very interested in what Cory Doctorow, Waag, and Bits of Freedom have to say on this topic with great interest.

Personal non-commercial websites are an antidote to the spammy corporate web.
I think the future of the internet is the curated internet. Yahoo started as a directory and got killed by Google. Google search, Facebook, and Instagram these “platforms” have drowned themselves with spammy crap. For non-commercial, neutral content, we move back to a directory-like internet. Curation is a task for all of us.
